At the back of the house is a walled courtyard.
The courtyard is completely private. It has a number of plants including some large aspidistras and a wisteria. There is also a a mature pepper tree that provides shade in the heat of the day.
There is garden furniture including chairs and a table.
The courtyard is the perfect place to relax in summer. It is shady and quiet with the sunlight dappled by the tree. It is the best place to come and cool off if you find the terrace gets too hot.
Hallway
The long, thin hallway leads to an oval spiral staircase with tiled steps and a traditional ironwork banister.
The Old Bathroom
This is such a crazy room, we had to leave it as it was. Crumbling plaster, fantastic colours, and a lovely view into the courtyard over the old pink marble sink. A great place to take a bath. You will either love it or hate it - we love it.
There is also a Zanussi washing machine and boiler in here, plus a separate WC.
Although the house is in a very quiet street it is only a minute to walk to the town square. This is the centre of local life. All amenities are there. See the Area for more details.
Studio
We have covered this room in fabric and cushions and made it into something special. Cool and dark, you can use it as somewhere to escape the heat, or read in peace. It has a double sofa bed, a single day bed, and a pull-out single so makes a very good extra bedroom.
