We think that this room was at some point the Grand Salon. Used now as the dining room we have retained the ornate ceiling, working fireplace, two French windows and small balcony. It has an eclectic mix of furniture including an unusual octagonal dining table, which can be extended to seat up to 15 - a great find at a vide grenier.
The dining room leads directly into the kitchen. It has a dresser, simple wood worktops and an enamelled sink. There is a good selection of equipment so is great for cooks - we have made some elaborate feasts - but it is not what the French would call an American Kitchen.
The kitchen facilities include a sink and drainer, a dishwasher, an electric/gas combination cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. There is a full complement of pans, utensils and dining ware.
The sitting room is also suitable as an extra bedroom. One sofa converts into a double sofa bed and there is a large walk-in cupboard with storage for bedding and clothing.
Sitting Room
The sitting room is a calm space with plenty of sun and comfortable seating to relax in.
It has two large windows which overlook the courtyard, its pepper tree and the wisteria.
